Mayor of New York Michael Bloomberg was the third recipient of the distinguish KAROUSOS LIBERTY AWARD 2008 for his excellent work to the Media Freedom and the freedom and prosperity to the biggest metropolis of the world New York.
After 9/11 New York become America’s symbol of resistance in order to keep the Liberty strong Enlightening the world.
The renowned composer Panayoti Karousos founded the KAROUSOS LIBERTY AWARD in recognition of those who have exerted themselves in the name o human rights and freedoms.
The KAROUSOS LIBERTY AWARD is an honorary mention presented to international personalities from various fields, ranging from artists to politicians.
The recipients must be public figures recognized for having had a global impact and influence rights and freedom acts.
First recipient was Rt. Hon. Prime Minister of Canada Pierre E. Trudeau for his endeavors in the Canadian Charter of Human Rights. Pierre E. Trudeau was a high profile international personality who served an excellent ministry. The ceremony took plays at the world Premiere of Karousos work The Spirit of Liberty, in Montreal Canada 2000.
The second recipient was His Eminence Archbishop of America Demetrios for his contribution to the Religious Freedom in United States, New York 2006.
Panayoti Karousos acclaimed internationally for his works, Peace Piano Concerto, The Song of the Nations, Olympic Symphony, the operas Prometheus, The Olympic Flame, Alexander the Great, the Light of Christianity and the masterpiece The Spirit of Liberty.
