When you have divorced your spouse, do not think that everything can be separated easily. If you still have credit card accounts under joint names after the divorce, you must make sure that all the debts have been fully paid. If this is not the case, missing a payment will generally hurt the credit scores of both of you equally. Even if your ex-spouse is ordered to take the responsibility for the debt, if he or she misses the payment due to financial hardship, the creditors have the right to chase you to pay. You must accept the fact that all joint credit cards will continue to be joint responsibilities for both parties until the debts are fully paid off or until the debts are settled.

Furthermore, even if you call up your creditors to inform them verbally that your ex-spouse has made the promise to pay off the debts, the creditors are not necessarily obligated to exclude you from the debts officially. Hence, you are reminded that if your divorce is in progress, you or your spouse must continue making the minimum monthly payment until the debts are divided clearly. If both of you don’t do that, you will be receiving non stop reminder letters and phone calls asking you for payments. Again, the credit reports of both parties will be affected too. Last but not the least; when you put a “full stop” to your marriage, it doesn’t mean that your financial responsibilities are ended too. In order to have a peaceful mind, you are advised to stop using the joint credit cards, clear all the outstanding balances and close the accounts immediately.

Often times, many of us check our monthly statement, letters, or credit transaction for a quick glance without really reviewing them to make sure if nothing negative has changed. The neglect of correcting such habit makes us risky for theft. Such habit also gives criminals who are always on a surveillance to take their chance to get to our personal data, credit accounts, and bank accounts. One aspect to be regularly checked is your credit report. Such report is very important because this is being used by potential lenders to evaluate your credibility as a borrower if you are to apply for a loan or mortgage. These are the things to look for that should be present in the credit report and the things that should not be there and what to do with it.

* What should be there Credit report contains your past and present transactions. Monthlyü statement that contains lists of transactions for the most recent month if you have credit card accounts should be reflected.

What to do if it is not there:

If the anticipated bank notice ceases to come to you from your financial institution or Credit Card Company, call them without postpone asking about it. If you find out the address where the statement is sent was altered, inform your financial institution you did not changed address. Ask for the address also where they last sent your bank statement and take note if this happens suspect identity theft is on the horizon. Ask for copies of the latest financial statement that transpired during the latest previous month. You will use these copies in case there are really anomalies and if investigation is to be done.

* What should not be there Unauthorized credits, charges, and withdrawals.ü

What to do if it is there

If there are signs of unauthorized transactions, contact your financial institutions at once to inform them of the disallowed transactions. You must request for further action to stop this kind of identity theft. Checking on our credit report on a regular basis may correct irregularities and serves as an identity theft check and prevent more victims of identity theft too. One way to check it is to ask for a copy from any of the three big reporting companies namely Equifax, Trans Union, and Experian. Should the checking of our bank statements and credit report be given time to be closely examined, identity theft could be avoided. Thieves would then never have the chance to do so.

A bad credit rating can be considered a mountain to climb for those involved. Consumers may be in a position where they can obtain financing from lenders. This is not true. “The truth is: Even with the worst credit, even just a day after the bankruptcy, a person with bad credit can still get a credit card, auto loan or a mortgage (by M . Brenner, 2008). Consumers have the resources they have, regardless of bad credit, provided they are able to benefit from other provisions. In fulfilling these requirements is possible auto loan or car loan. Security can be a great role when lenders consider the applications. Warranty, usually on the basis of fixed assets such as property, it can be guaranteed by the financial institution. The guarantee should be used as a source for payment if the consumer does not repay the amount within an agreed timeframe. “This does not mean that the income requirements or credit are neglected by the simple act of asking a bad credit loan secured an unsecured loan. However, it is true that your chances of doing so may increase” (Witt 2008). Unsecured loans are still available for consumers with bad credit. These loans are interest rates higher and lower loan amounts, but remains a viable option for people with bad credit. Can help people with bad credit or a guarantee company loans, including credit cards, car. “The risk is reduced and simplified so that the conditions of approval” (Witt 2008).

Confidnece consumer spending declined, making large purchases. “Research in February, is one of the first pieces of evidence that the public consider modifying their behavior to the economic slowdown. Among the factors that spending, the largest margin of 44 per cent of people was the ‘cost increase for one day. One in six said they had received bills for the big house, have seen their incomes drop for another reason, or thought he should be more cautious in their charge. “(Hickman, 2008). Cars can be an expensive payment. The current economic climate means that consumers are less confident about spending their disposable income. Therefore, the possibility of extending the payment over a certain period in manageable quantities per month is more attractive to consumers.

Recent studies of CAR have shown that a significant proportion of British drivers looking to downsize your car. Consumers recognize the need for a smaller car for two reasons. 1; costs and optimize 2, your car loan. Companies like creditplus.co.uk are specialists in finding funding opportunities for potential consumers. It will sort through the major lenders and find the best ways to finance the special circumstances of the consumer. The use of computers to provide loans and other financial support tools to easily assess the consumer, if the monthly payments should be and how long these payments will be made. But all this is the result of the credit depends conducted in May.
